A piece of music notation constructs different music marking with printed and handwritten form. The former being standardised is created by the composer. The later allows the tutor and learner add their own additional marking to the script, and thus becomes a significant communicating bridge between learner and tutor. More importantly, it enhances the envision interpretation to the music learner. The music marking, therefore, fills a gap with the absent of the actual music notation thereby giving the intension for the music performance.
Throughout interaction, experiment and collaboration in this exhibition, it is hoped that the visitors can explore the unknowns and possibilities in music participation. Every people have their own understanding about the music marking. Without the standard and established conventions, the music learner can explore the harmony with organized chaos of those music symbols in the learning experience. Trials are permanent; failures are allowed; errors are tolerable. The music learning process being full of evaluation is curious on what extent the learner can judge their music performance as the best amongst all possibilities.
Six zones are included in the exhibition: musical pitch, tempo, beat & rhythm, fingering dynamic and articulation.
/ Interaction
Five physical movements are required in the exhibition, including: vision, hearing, saying, tactile and walking. The utilisation of different sense encourages the participants to take an active in their personal experience.
/ Experiment
Without a standard rule, the participants are encouraged to make trials in the experience. Finding uniqueness of different participant, they are nurtured to develop their distinct feature for music learning development.
/ Collaboration
Engaging different stakeholder in music co-creation process that it embodies the common language with music marking through the music gathering experience.
